Hi, I’m Fernanda.
Born in the Dominican Republic and raised in New York City, my upbringing is an integral part of who I am today. I am a UX Designer who believes that empathy and design go hand in hand. I’ve earned my BFA in Design and Technology from Parsons the New School of Design with a minor in psychology from Eugene Lang Liberal Arts School at the New School. I find satisfaction is advocating for unheard voices by way of design and technology. Anything is possible.
How I Add Value
Connecting the dots between people, products, and possibilities.
-
I turn complex problems into clear opportunities, connecting user needs with product goals to shape meaningful experiences. I help shape design direction, align cross-functional partners, and bring clarity to complex problems through thoughtful collaboration.
-
I design intuitive, accessible experiences that make complex journeys feel simple, useful, and natural, turning ideas into tangible experiences, using prototypes to explore possibilities, communicate interactions, and refine solutions.
-
I partner with product, engineering, research, and design teams to challenge ideas, refine solutions, and move work forward.
-
I bring ideas to life through thoughtful layouts, clear hierarchy, and attention to the details that make products feel polished.

Collaboration with Cada Paso
The program uses design-thinking to address social determinants of health, encouraging students to look at community data and lived experiences to promote local health equity. Following these surveys, the collaboration extends into creative advocacy workshops. Participants use design tools, such as building customized zines, to document their stories, brainstorm neighborhood improvements, and present their ideas directly to local lawmakers and City Council members.
Collaboration with WHEELS
The collaboration between Parsons School of Design (part of The New School) and WHEELS (Washington Heights Expeditionary Learning School) is an educational partnership designed to bridge secondary education with high-level design and college-level academic pathways
